Great Masters of Impressionism Summer School
Presented by artist and art historian Grant Simon Rogers, this course focuses on the social context in which this small group of artists captured the shifting ideas of identity in France and reflected the rapidly changing social-economic situation in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
Participants will learn about the key techniques and characteristics of Impressionist paintings and examine the major artists of this period and their impact on the status quo. Each day will begin with lectures followed by offsite visits to various venues around London to analyse individual works in context.
