21 September 2016 | Save the Date: Panel Discussion

Christies Education New York

Christie’s Education, in collaboration with Stropheus Art Law, is proud to present the first in a series of panel discussions focused on cutting edge art business and law issues.

Gallerists are under unprecedented market pressures leading many to move on from the brick-and-mortar gallery convention. Prominent amongst these are Nicole Klagsbrun and Jay Gorney, who will present on alternative entrepreneurial and curatorial models. Noted art market analyst and journalist Josh Baer will provide historical contextualization and structural insight. Richard Lehun, founding member of the Stropheus Art Law Collective, will present on the opportunities and challenges created by these new art business practices. 

The event will be followed by a reception with a selection of curated wines.

Christies Education London

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Christie's Education Trust as well as the 250th anniversary of the foundation of Christie's auction house, we will host the inaugural Global Alumni Conference on Friday 23 September 2016, in London.

The conference is exclusively designed for Christie's Education Alumni to keep members informed of recent developments in various fields within the art world and is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow alumni.

This one-day conference will feature a series of lectures and panel discussions of selected speakers, influencial art business leaders and experts, discussing the themes and trends that define the art world today.

3 November 2016 l Emerging Artists Presentations l 6:30-8:30pm

Christies Education New York

This annual event is an opportunity for a faculty-selected group of graduating students to present on emerging artists in today's market. A panel of selected alumni will vote to determine which student will receive the Award for Contemporary Connoisseurship at the December 2016 graduation ceremony. 

Alumni are invited to join us on 3 November from 6:30-8:30pm at the Christie's Education New York campus for presentations and refreshments. This is a unique opportunity to learn about emerging artists and support the work of our next graduating class.
