Christie's Education Alumni Class of 2000


To mark the 30th anniversary of the Christie's Education Trust as well as the 250th anniversary of the foundation of Christie's auction house, we will host the inaugural Global Alumni Conference on Friday 23 September 2016 in London.

The conference is exclusively designed for Christie's Education Alumni to keep members informed of recent developments in various fields within the art world and is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow alumni.

This one-day conference will feature a series of lectures and panel discussions of selected speakers, influencial art business leaders and experts, discussing the themes and trends that define the art world today.

Sessions include but are not limited to the following topics:

Session 1

The View from a Collector

A panel discussion on the role of the collector and collecting trends in the 21st century.

Aphrodite and her Sandals

Dr Sadie Pickup, Christie's Education London, presents latest research on Aphrodite and her Sandals, tallying in with her current research on footwear in classical antiquity.

Session 4

Private Tour of Christie's South Kensington

Christie's leading specialists will give a private tour to alumni of the contemporary works on view at South Kensington.

Session 5

Art and Technology

The relationship that technology has with museums and gallery spaces and how collectors and artists have new ways to control their collections with technology.

Alumni members have the opportunity to take part in an optional gallery crawl on the morning after the conference (Saturday 24 September) with Christie’s Education lecturer, Ben Street, on contemporary art.
